Are you being aggressive enough with your marketing?
"Don't tell me how rocky the sea is, just bring the damn ship in."
On today's call with Blueprint clients, my coach Tim spent more time with everybody on growth planning.
Helping everybody map out their sales projections and marketing initiatives for the next 4 quarters.
One question that we encourage everybody to ask is:
Are you being aggressive enough with your marketing?
When you put a lot of things in motion, you dramatically increase your chances of striking gold.
Of course you can't create a chaotic situation, but that's part of figuring out the equation of how to get the job done. Maybe you've heard the quote "Don't tell me how rocky the sea is, just bring the damn ship in." The point is, we still have to get the job done so how will we do it?
Once you assess these constraints, there's usually an opportunity to attack more aggressively with your marketing.
If a gold miner goes to one good looking spot and focuses on just that...she might find gold. But if she instead decides to figure out how to put 5 locations in play at once, she's got a much greater chance of success.
It's the same in marketing. The more marketing you do, the more great clients you'll be able to attract.
So are you doing enough? Do you need a bigger vision for what your marketing could be?
What if you had too many leads?
I have many, many examples from my business as well as clients I've helped...where there were too many leads for the sales team to handle effectively. These sales people had it good, let me tell you. They get a little lazy under those circumstances, if you don't have good management in place.
Some clients have even paused campaigns because they just can't handle the volume.
This is a great problem to have. Most people have the opposite problem.
Is your marketing mix sufficient? Does it have the ability to overwhelm you and your team? If there's little chance of that happening, then you probably need to assess doing some things differently.
I'm not saying the goal is to be overwhelmed. But if your marketing firepower is not sufficient enough to even have a CHANCE of doing it, then maybe it's not good enough.
Food for thought, I hope.

One of the things I work with clients on is putting together a comprehensive, holistic marketing strategy, and helping to guide the ship along the way. I do a very limited amount of 1-on-1 work (and it's not cheap), but I have one spot opening in 2 weeks to work with a new client.
If your marketing isn't driving the results you need, and you want to pour rocket fuel on it, maybe this is for you. You'd be working with me and my marketing strategist Ryan. Reply to this message if you're interested.
Have a great week everybody!
Josh
P.S. Next week I am going to start breaking down marketing strategies in more detail. I’ll be sending out my weekly Monday message to everybody, and then going in-depth on Friday May 3 for Blueprint members. If you join, you’ll get all of it. It would be great to see you there.
P.P.S. You may be on this list because you opted in via substack, or maybe signed up to get my emails a few years ago. Either on my personal brand site, or through one of my prior businesses like Connect 365. If you want a software solution for email/leads/social, then you should work with them and actually it’s one part of my methodology, because they're awesome, but now I'm doing something different!
What I’m doing now is:
A. The Blueprint. Sharing my models and strategies for growth, in a masterclass / group coaching format.
B. Consulting, where I work alongside you to ramp up your marketing + sales. Only working with a couple clients at a time. Have a spot opening in a couple weeks. Reply if interested.
